A very rare combined musical centre that plays vinyl/turntable, cassette, radio with in built amplifier. This is a unique and rare vertical system (turntable rotates vertically) and only a few made. The X-10 Vertical Music Centre was a genius idea from the early 80’s to mount the turntable vertically with linear tracking. Combines a tape deck, tuner and turntable in one, with a satisfactory amount of knobs and buttons. Sounds OK, looks friggin’ cool and fits into places where you wouldn’t normally be able to fit your turntable. This also comes with original brochure, installation guide and user/manual guide (however excludes the original matching speakers). This is perfect for a restoration project (mechanically/functionally only) and currently sold as is with no returns, will require a service by a technician (refer to further descriptions on the right)

The facia is in very good condition with no rust, green, white powder, minimal marks and scratches. There are also one hairline crack (has been jb weld glued) and one larger one (which has also been jb weld glued) apart from that cosmetically inside and out there is no rust, accumulation of dust, green or white powder, etc The back board is very good to excellent condition with no cracks or marks

Functional Condition:

From what we can tell this will require a service including two new belts (one on the tone arm and the cassette), tone arm adjustment (the tone arm does not start at the correct position), and the two light/globes to illuminate the radio and casette function (refer to picture shows green light working for the turntable but not the other two). In terms of what works includes: radio (including pickup of radio freqencies), the speaker outputs (plugged in our speakers and this works fine with no crackling or humming), all buttons and volume control, the turntable spins (both speeds) as does the tone arm (including stop, start, move) and others

In our opinion looks like it has not been used in many years (but the condition of it is fairly good given its age), our technician unfortunately does not have the capacity to fix this within the next 6 months and is probably suited to someone who has serviced these before. Once restored this value will increase dramatically or keep it for aesthetic value, a beautiful piece for display as well
