A beautiful vintage movie cinema camera the automatic Beaulieu R16. This is a 16mm and feautres a Angénieux-Zoom 10 x 12 B f / 2.2 lens - 12 to 120mm, also comes fitted with an aftermarket Tiffen Adapter ring series 9 for the Tiffen series 9 Lens shade both made in the USA as pictured. The Beaulieu R16 takes a 100ft magazine inside, or can be used with an external 200ft 'mouse ears' magazine which sits on top of the camera. The cameras support speeds from a single frame up to 64fps, and some models have an auto-focus function (which only works with the correct lens). Most R16s also have a built-in light meter, although it's very basic. The Beaulieu R16 can be used to shoot sync sound (it has a sync mechanical sync output). Marketed towards advanced amateurs, their goal was to offer high quality SLR style motion picture cameras. Beaulieu movie cameras feature removable C mount lenses and reflex type viewfinders, which is more uncommon in smaller format movie equipment.

This has been cleaned and works however not film tested as it require a battery pack or power supply (easily purchased online) so cannot gurantee its full functional condition without recording then processing the film which we do not offer as our services. Use it as a camera or beautiful heavy display piece. It also comes with the Manfrotto 144 and 128 fluid video head as pictured, the camera has been retro fitted to sit ontop of the manfrotto so it requires a bit of fiddling to get it sitting correctly. Will consider selling the tripod separately.

Very good as per pictures there are a few exterior scratches and marks (expected given its from the 1950s) but the camera still looks beautiful.

Functional Condition:

Functionally the large lens will require a clean as will the viewfinder. Given the lens is exceptionally complex we did not pull it apart and cleaned it. If you would like it fully restored (no dust, new lens where required, clean inside) please contact us for a quote as we will provide it to our Japanese camera specialist. This has not been film tested so cannot guarantee that the film functionally works. The previous owner was a cinema and film enthusiast so we are very sure it is in working condition (needs battery or power supply and run film to fully test). There is no green or white powder or rust or corrosion on any of the parts however as above will most likely need a clean, if you know about cameras you can probably do this yourself with care.
