Pre order - Overman egg chair by New Style Upholstery (NSU) or Fler

We highly suspect this is an Australian version of the overman egg chair by NSU or Fler given the previous owner stated this along with the NSU Eames chair we also have from them. Designed by Jakob Rudowski in Melbourne Australia circa 1965, A beautiful very large 5 seater low sitting MCM couch in a lovely original green fabric. This couch sits low, has a lovely profileand easily sits up to 5 people. Made by Melbourne furniture artisan Jakob Rudowski. Rudowski, like Dario Zoureff and Rosando Furniture, is one of the mid-century modern makers of Melbourne as a "Tier 1" Australian maker his furniture rarely comes to market and is highly collectable. Many of his Melbourne clients were mid-century modernist architects and designers.

This has been lightly restored with the legs sanded and oil, the fabric professionally vacuum and steam cleaned and comes with new foam. It has a soft to firm original springs and foam. There is some usual wear on the seating areas, besides that the couch was hardly used from previous owner (left in the spare room) and is in very good to excellent condition.

Please note there is an option to reupholster to new fabric/colour of your choice however this will be an additional cost...refer to price and scope options

The chair overall has seen better days, if you have the skill sets then you could reupholster or we can do this for you at additional cost
Legs: 7/10 - alloy has some minor scratches and marks expected for this age, the castor wheels and swivel mechanisms move freely at ease.
Fabric: 6/10 - wear marks on the seat and everywhere else.

Very good - functionally no wobbles or warping in the metal frame legs or poly mould. As an unrestored piece you can use it as is, however a full restoration would loosen the swivel base chanisms to move more freely and check overall poly mould structure underneath the fabric
